Polly Washburn
Content Creation, Editing, Production & Code

I've been creating content of all kinds for the web, film, and other media for over two decades now. Click on each tab below to find out more about each area I've worked in.

Interactive Digital Content Creation

I have designed, coded and upgraded dozens of websites and digital marketing campaigns for small businesses, non-profit organizations, university departments, artists of all kinds, film promotions and event marketing. I'm currently a fullstack developer working on a project to help people collaborate.

Film & Television

In 20 years in the film and television industry, I have served as a producer, line producer, production manager, assistant director and script supervisor. My most recent project is a documentary on immigration policy called Seeking Solutions.

Passionflower, a feature film I produced, spent three years at festivals winning awards, then went on to Canadian television and digital streaming worldwide. I served as the associate producer and writer for a season of the GLBTQ travel show Bump.

I attended the Canadian Film Centre's Television Writing Program, and took a feature project to the National Screen Institute's Features First program.

Journalism

I've worked as a journalist and editor for publications in Canada and the U.S. for 20 years. I was a writer and digital producer for the Denver Post's Cannabist, the nation's first cannabis industry vertical in a city newspaper. I then wrote on data-driven topics for Marijuana Moment.

Previously, I was the news and books editor at Perimeter magazine in Winnipeg, Canada. I was also an editor and long-time writer for Prairie Books Now.
